Paint Master now works on Linux Machines!!!!

This is my first ever program on Linux and I can't wait to see how it performs well. The Linux version of Paint Master is similar to the release of the Windows version of Paint Master 3.5. But, not all features are packed in this version compared to the Windows one.

You can access all features except:

  • Opening images: This is a technical difficulty due to the way that the extension is handled in GameMaker. I have compiled it several times but got stuck with the same error message. It just threw an error message stating that " it cannot load the extension because there is no such file or directory".
  • Saving images: You can NOT save your artwork in the directory you have chosen. Paint Master will directly save in Home/.config/Paint_Master_Linux (Note that these vary from one distro to another). The .config folder is hidden until and unless you show hidden files by pressing Ctrl+H.

Now, how do you run this application?

  • Download the program "Paint Master Linx.AppImage".
  • After you have downloaded the file, the browser will show the file you have downloaded. DON'T immediately launch the app.
  • Just open your File Manager, then click on the Downloads Folder in the Home directory, and find "Paint Master Linux.AppImage" in the Downloads Folder.

  • Again DON'T launch. Right-click on the program and select properties. A properties window will appear defaulting to 'Basic' tab.

  • Switch to 'Permissions' tab and check 'Allow executing file as program' and close the window.
  • Now Left-click on the program. The program should start without any problems.
  • Once the program has launched, you can enjoy doodling, painting, sketching, and drawing on the program.

If any bugs experiencing in this application, please do comment. As of now, stay tuned and I will release updates for the whole franchise I have created.

Feel free to share this program with your friends and family!!
